Who we are
Our mission is to provide support for local health systems to prevent and treat Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) which are the number one cause of death and disability worldwide.

Our Vision
Resilient health systems which provide patient-centered holistic, integrated care along the life course and reduce morbidity and mortality due to NCDs
What are NCDs
The term NCDs refers to a group of conditions that are not mainly caused by an acute infection, result in long-term health consequences, and often need long-term treatment and care.
Common NCDs include cancers, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and chronic lung diseases. Many other important conditions are also considered NCDs, including injuries and mental health disorders.

Why is treating and preventing NCD’s so important.
The impact of NCDs goes beyond health, and their economic and social effects are staggering. NCD rates worldwide are also increasing faster in low-and-middle income countries, with worse outcomes than in wealthier countries
Studies have shown that NCDs may also reduce economic progress, increase poverty and the probability of political instability. This is done through direct healthcare costs for medications, doctor visits, and other medical interventions, as well as indirect costs associated with reduced productivity due to illness and disability.
How are we going to do this?
We will help to increase access to patient-centered comprehensive and equitable services for NCDs and Injury prevention along the life-course to underserved communities through:-
JHOI will operate in partnership with key local and international stakeholders in the public and private sectors, including health, education, agriculture, social services, and faith-based organizations who will provide funding and technical support.
